Themes and Montessori

Many Montessori schools incorporate monthly themes or during summer camp, even weekly themes into their curriculum. Monthly themes should be treated like wonderful chances to present extensions of many different subjects to your students.

A recent school I worked with caters to a very math and language demand from their clients, even during the summer camp so we worked to cater the themes around fun topics and subjects that the children could enjoy and learn something new from. We began with the rain forest theme, being familiar with the map of South America, the students were already interested in learning more about the Amazon rain forest.
